Dear faculty, students, and staff,

We have seen a steady rise in spam, phishing, malware, and ransomware in the past several months. Often our ability to minimize the damage from such threats depends on a timely response. We have been using phishing or other information security alerts to communicate these threats to you in a timely manner. However, that communication is mostly one way.

Today we are announcing the Qatar Information Security email address so you can report information security incidents directly to us. The email address is:

            qatar-infosec@qatar.cmu.edu

Please email any suspected phishing or malware related emails to this address. Also, if you have questions or concerns about the information security of your computer, device, or data, please report it to this address. We will respond as soon as we can.

We will attempt to monitor emails sent to qatar-infosec round the clock (even during evenings, weekends, and holidays). The goal is to quickly give you specific advice related to your particular situation.
